Having played representative Cricket for over 25 years
for Hawkes Bay from 1979 until 2005, having also retired
from first class cricket only three years ago after
18 years at that level for the Central District Women's
team. In her youth she was selected for an internal
tour with the NZ U23's team and was in the New Zealand
squads as well on a couple of occasions for both Cricket
and Football (soccer) but never made the step up to
actually playing in any matches for her country at senior
level.
Even
since her retirement from both football and representative
Cricket she was still involved for a season as Manageress
for the Central Districts Hinds and the Hawkes Bay womens
football team and remains a firm supporter and follower
of all womens Cricket and football, with a keen interest
in Cricket scoring. Megan is still playing club cricket
and continually injured with "niggles"as a
result of thinking she is 15 years younger than she
is!. |
